Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee opened its doors in 1978 with commitment from several community leaders. The purpose of the organization was to provide a central distribution center for companies, groups, and individuals who wished to help provide food for hungry people in Middle Tennessee.

Amelia’s Closet is a faith-based 501(c)3 organization that helps reduce poverty in our communities by preparing women for sustainable employment.

Knoxville

Bread of Life Food Pantry is a food bank serving the Knox County Area.

Farragut

The C.A.R.E. Food Pantry provides food to those who are hungry in the Farragut Community.

MURFREESBORO

The Murfreesboro Cold Patrol is working to end the revolving door of homelessness through outreach, advocacy, and resource support. We accomplish this by creating relationships built on trust, consistency, and brotherly love. In 2019, we were able to help 22 unique individuals experiencing chronic homelessness obtain permanent housing. Prior to finding housing, these individuals had been on the streets for a collective total of over 133 years (which averages over 6 years each).

The Food Stamp program, now called SNAP, provides nutritional assistance benefits to children, families, the elderly, disabled, unemployed, and working families.

Greenhouse Ministries seeks to transform those we serve and those who serve with us by focusing on spiritual, financial, physical, and emotional progress.

We partner with churches, non-profits, and individuals to fund and provide volunteer support for our mission initiatives.

By providing immediate needs of food, clothing, and personal items as well as long-term needs of educational resources, health services, counseling, and career preparation, Greenhouse Ministries serves the whole person.

The Journey Home is a Christian ministry that serves the homeless and disadvantaged of Rutherford County by helping to rehouse and provide resources and relationships that encourage faith, economic stability, wholeness, and reintegration into community life.
